1 / 3Balmoral Cineplex
π Bulimba, QLD
Multi-screen independent cinema in a heritage building with morning family sessions and children's pricing. Free parking next door. Cafe on-site. Pram accessible. Age recommendation from 2 years.
Love going to this cinema. Comfy seats and it doesn't smell like a class full of high-school boys have just left. This cinema make you feel like its an experience and you are getting more than the movie ticket. We always look here first and drive for a half hour to get there. There is onsite parking next door where we have never had a problem getting a park.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 4 and up seeking a charming local cinema alternative to major chains. The combination of reasonable pricing and free parking makes it accessible for larger families. Families with mobility needs should check seating positions in advance β some rows require navigating steps in low light.

βNice old cinema that looks quite cool. Snacks and food can be a bit expensive but that's a given since it's a cinema (Although I think prices shouldn't be so high.). Service at the cafe was lovely. Saw a movie, enjoyed it, wished there had been a little bit more leg, and the steps weren't as annoying to get down (I don't know what it is, given there's small lights on the edge of them, but a much older woman had taken a small fall, she's okay. I also had a bit of trouble going up and down as I have mild celebral palsy, again I am unsure what it is, but the steps can be a bit trick, aleast in cinema six where I was.β

βThis place stinks. My daughter said it smells like dirty diapers. We were also bitten by bugs on our legs, and I even got one tangled in my hair. It was a really awful experience, especially during a movie that lasts three hours. Please clean the place thoroughly, and proper pest control would be a good idea.β
