Event Cinemas - Toowomba Grand Central

“Went to see Avatar 3. The theatre was brilliant, the recliner seats exceptional. And the movie was beautiful beyond imagination. You must see it... But there were problems. Signposts pointing to the theatre were small, obscure, and mostly non existent. We got lost trying to get back to our car in the carpark. No maps showing carpark locations. This is a criminal ommission. But it's not the cinemas fault.”

“Event Cinemas are fantastic the seating was great accessibility for disabled people was very good food is outstanding that provided for snacks and so forth but the food is a very very expensive so just for two of us were paying with discounted tickets were paying about 60 + dollars for two unfortunately this puts us out of the budget barrier of not going back to Event Cinemas there only when we can afford it”

“The V-Max Theatre is a great experience with the recliner chairs. Just not enough people serving the snacks with large queues. There was no interval and Wicked is a very long movie so there were people going in out throughout which can detract a bit. Otherwise a great theatre to see the latest movies in.”

“We booked tickets online for a new release film the day it was released on the Event Cinema App, pre-paid for the collectors cup but upon arrival at the cinema, the staff member on Tills told us that they were “out of stock”. I requested a refund and no real response was given, the duty manager just came and pressed some buttons and gestured to the EFTPOS machine. I understand that collectors cups and popcorn tins are a limited release but if a customer has paid for something, it should be put aside for time of arrival. Example: If the location receives 50 and 20 have been paid for, the 20 should be put aside while the other 30 are available for purchase through walk-in. Because the first 20 have been paid for, like mine. The three staff that were on all just sort of walked around back and forth, not making eye contact with anyone or acknowledging anyone, they may have been burnt out from a long day, I get it, customers can be rough, but, we didn’t even get an apology for the inconvenience. This was paid for before the official release of film and it’s a small joy that was exciting only to be disappointed on the day. This is our first time having a negative experience at Event Cinemas Toowoomba so I am hoping I can delete the review after my next, hopefully better, experience.”
