“Our family recently visited the Toowoomba Strand Cinema to complete a final "wish" for our terminally ill family member to watch the new Naked Gun movie. We are extremely appreciative of the service, dignity and respect provided to us from the staff members on the day. The staff were lovely to deal with and helpful in settling our family member into his seat after he was brought in by his nursing staff and gave a personal service which exceeded our expectations. We were hoping to have a memorable day but the staff made the day less stressful and all the more special for us.”

“Taking Advantage of the Vulnerable – Avoid This Cinema! I am appalled by the lack of integrity and compassion at Event Cinemas Toowoomba Grand. My cognitively disabled daughter visited recently, and while they technically "honored" the Companion Card by letting her carer in for free, they clearly used the opportunity to milk her for as much money as possible. They charged her $28.80 for a single ticket—the highest possible price for a recliner—completely ignoring any Concession or Disability discount she is entitled to. That figure is not even advertised by them it is so extortionate. My daughter does not have the capacity to distinguish between a standard seat and a luxury recliner, yet the staff saw fit to process the most expensive option rather than a fair rate. When confronted, the theatre refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing or offer a refund for the price difference. It is predatory to charge a disabled person premium prices for features they didn't ask for and cannot appreciate. If you have a family member with a disability, be warned: this establishment values your money far more than your dignity or fair treatment.”
