1 / 3Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park
π Doonside, NSW
7-acre Australian wildlife park in Western Sydney housing over 2,000 native animals including 60+ threatened species. Families can hand-feed kangaroos, book koala photo encounters, and walk flat pram-friendly paths through bushland.
This is a wildlife experience and well worth it. No exotic animals - all Australian animals, birds and snakes and so well cared for. Itβs not a lot of walking but allow 2-3 hrs. So much to see. The wombats are so cute, and sleepy koalas , dingos, emus and all animals are within close proximity, so it feels very intimate. Plenty of shade (went there on a 42 degree day - it was fine). Itβs mostly flat walking throughout and totally comfortable. Excellent addition of hand wash stations positioned all over the park. There is the opportunity to feed animals, with food cups and plenty of parking, onsite and directly across the road in an overflow parking lot. Opportunities to get a photo with a koala at a very good price (half of cost of other koala parks). Cute little cafe for lunch, which has gluten free options available. Well kept and worth visiting.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children of any age wanting close-proximity native animal encounters without extensive walking. The compact layout means a 2-3 hour visit covers everything comfortably.

βA great half day out from Sydney. Really easy to navigate - worth getting Citymapper if you donβt already have it to help with the bus/train times. Get up close and personal with some of Australiaβs most iconic animals. You can buy feed at the ticket desk and feed the certain animals around the park! Top tip, you can feed multiple animals so donβt feel you need to use it all with the pademelons at the start! There are quokkas who would enjoy it too a bit further around. Highly recommend. You can get your picture with and stroke their koalas for a small fee, highly recommend doing that. We also booked online when we were on our way there and used a discount code for 10% off. Definitely worth doing. We went on a Wednesday and got there around 12 and were finished up around 2, so very easy to fit into half a day.β

βI had a wonderful experience here, you can buy Kangaroo food for 5$ at the ticket office and feed the kangaroos. I also booked the Koala experience and it was amazing. I was able to pet the Koala and get my picture taken by their photographer. You receive your picture instantly in addition to a digital download. If you also want to take an additional photo with your own phone you can give them your phone and the will take a few photos for you during your Koala encounter. I very highly recommend visiting this park if you're near Sydney. Many other animal encounters like the Quoka encounter were fully booked for weeks so it's recommended to book early.β

βVisited bright and early on a weekday. Buy a cup of animal treats as you enter. Facilities are clean and coffee and snacks are yummy. A great place to visit and relax with cute animals. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and you could see that the animals were all cared for in their appropriate environment. A more intimate experience compared to larger parks that weβve visited. I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy this wildlife park while in Sydney. Keep up the passion for caring for Australiaβs wildlife.β
