1 / 3Sydney Zoo
π Eastern Creek, NSW
Modern Western Sydney zoo housing over 150 species across Africa, Asia, Australia, and Primate Boulevard precincts. Enclosures are designed at child-friendly viewing heights.
We visited Sydney Zoo for the Education Showcase (free entry), and it turned into a perfect family day out as well. There is plenty of parking, which made arrival stress-free. I really loved how well the zoo supports educational programs for teachers and educators informative, engaging, and clearly designed to connect learning with real experiences. The cooling air system throughout the zoo made walking around very comfortable, especially on a warm day. There is an amazing variety of animals, including mammals, birds, and a great collection of reptiles, all beautifully presented. The zoo is well laid out, family-friendly, and easy to explore at your own pace. Itβs an excellent place for family outings, school visits, and excursions, and a full day can be planned without feeling rushed. Highly recommend Sydney Zoo for families and educators alike educational, enjoyable, and thoughtfully designed.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children under 10 who benefit most from the child-height enclosures β animals are visible without lifting or craning. The annual pass delivers strong value for Western Sydney families who can visit multiple times across a year. On hot days the climate-controlled zones and misting areas make the visit more comfortable.

βWe had such a great day at Sydney Zoo. The zoo is really well laid out and easy to get around, which makes it perfect for families with kids. Thereβs a great variety of animals and the enclosures are spacious and well maintained. It feels like you can get really good views of the animals without them feeling crowded. A really nice bonus was the little playground inside the zoo. Itβs perfect for kids to have a break, run around, and burn off some energy before heading off to see more animals. The facilities are clean and there are plenty of places to grab food or drinks. Overall itβs a really enjoyable day out. We got a membership which is great value for money.β

βIt was my first time visiting this zoo and I really enjoyed it. The animals are positioned at a level where younger children can easily see them, which makes the experience much more enjoyable for families with little ones. The day we went was very hot, but the zoo has misting areas and fans throughout the park, which was definitely a plus. The only downside was that some of the animals seemed a bit lazy because of the heat, but that was expected. I would definitely recommend this zoo, especially if you have babies or small children.β

βA fantastic, modern zoo that is incredibly easy to navigate and very family-friendly. The open-air enclosures provide great views of the animals without the distraction of heavy bars or fences. We had a wonderful day out and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!β
