Interesting displays. The film was great to watch. We very much enjoying through the old house. The staff were very friendly & helpful.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with school-age children who engage with hands-on exhibits and documentary-style storytelling. Start inside the globe to give kids context before exploring the main hall. Plan for two to three hours β€” the venue looks compact from outside as the interactive elements extend visit times significantly.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Start with the short film inside the globe structure β€” it gives essential context for the rest of the museum
⏰Ask about the three-museum combo pass β€” it adds Fairymead House and the Historical Museum for a small extra cost
🎟️Mon Repos house is included in admission and offers a personal look into Hinkler daily life
πŸš—The museum looks small from outside β€” plan at least two hours for a thorough visit

β€œA great experience which gives insight into one of Australia's international heroes. It looks small, but you can easily spend several hours there. I also recommend viewing Mon Repos house, for a personal look into Bert Hinkler's life.”

β€œSituated in the Bundaberg Botanical Gardens, this is a really interesting museum about Bert Hinkler. Bert was an aviation icon who died far too young. Start within the globe as there is a short video about Bert and his life, there are a number of interactive displays so channel your inner child and try them. Entrance also includes Bert’s UK house which they shipped to Australia so do check that out as well as it is a time capsule. I would also buy the three Museum pass and check out the other two places in the gardens as it makes it really cost-effective. Definitely worth doing if visiting Bundaberg.”
