1 / 3Hinkler Hall of Aviation
π Bundaberg Central, QLD
Aviation museum in Bundaberg Botanical Gardens dedicated to pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler, featuring interactive displays, educational films inside a globe structure, historical aircraft exhibits, and a tour of Mon Repos house where Hinkler lived.
Interesting displays. The film was great to watch. We very much enjoying through the old house. The staff were very friendly & helpful.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age children who engage with hands-on exhibits and documentary-style storytelling. Start inside the globe to give kids context before exploring the main hall. Plan for two to three hours β the venue looks compact from outside as the interactive elements extend visit times significantly.

βA great experience which gives insight into one of Australia's international heroes. It looks small, but you can easily spend several hours there. I also recommend viewing Mon Repos house, for a personal look into Bert Hinkler's life.β

βSituated in the Bundaberg Botanical Gardens, this is a really interesting museum about Bert Hinkler. Bert was an aviation icon who died far too young. Start within the globe as there is a short video about Bert and his life, there are a number of interactive displays so channel your inner child and try them. Entrance also includes Bertβs UK house which they shipped to Australia so do check that out as well as it is a time capsule. I would also buy the three Museum pass and check out the other two places in the gardens as it makes it really cost-effective. Definitely worth doing if visiting Bundaberg.β

Overview
Hinkler Hall of Aviation sits inside Bundaberg Botanical Gardens and centres on the story of Bert Hinkler β the first person to fly solo from England to Australia. The globe structure houses a short biographical film. Interactive displays cover early aviation technology and Hinkler record-breaking flights. Mon Repos house, Hinkler former home, is included in admission and provides a personal dimension to the exhibits.
