1 / 3Odeon Star Cinema
π Semaphore, SA
Operating since 1920, Odeon Star Cinema runs three screens showing new releases alongside curated classic programs including Windback Wednesday and Miyazaki May. Affordable tickets with traditional candy bar, pram access, and on-site parking.
Do you enjoy watching movies at the cinema for $12? How about reasonable priced combos? Choc tops that are full of ice-cream and not tiny? Do you like watching new movies and also older ones at the cinema? Do you like having staff who are friendly and clean theatres/toilets? Well look no further! The Odeon Star is the best cinema in Adelaide. It's still family run and Australian owned.
π Family Action Verdict
An excellent choice for families who value atmosphere and film variety over premium comfort. The classic programming β especially themed festivals β makes this a destination for cinephiles of all ages. Younger children enjoy the heritage building and generous choc-tops.

βI am privileged to have lived in Semaphore and for the last 2 decades enjoyed very memorable movies in a wonderfully unique building that arguably is an important part of the history of our district. I cannot praise the efforts of the owners and staff of this grand old picture theatre for their untiring efforts to keep this important icon running. Highly recommended for your support and patronage. It would be a tragedy if this business were to slip away like so much that has been wholesome and worthwhile.β

βSuch a wonderfully preserved theatre. It first opened in 1920 - a tangible piece of history from 100+ years ago. New releases, and classics showing. Candy Bar is excellent, with choc-top ices, popcorn and a wide variety of alcoholic drinks available. Seats are modern and comfortable. Spacious cinema. Excellent location with parking outside and near to dining options.β

βLove the classic look. The cheapest movie ticket prices, 3 cinemas running, decent sized. The seats arenβt the most comfortable but it does have a little recliner function. Sound isnβt the greatest but still experience the dramatic theme songs well. If youβre looking for no thrill cheap deal movies, this it the Place to Be!β
