1 / 3Orion Lagoon
π Springfield Central, QLD
Public swimming lagoon in Springfield Central with multiple depth zones designed for different age groups, more than ten lifeguards on rotation, clean change rooms, BBQ facilities, shaded seating, and free parking.
Spent the whole day here with the family and it was easy to find a good shaded spot. Safety is paramount here, it was good to see 10+ lifeguards constantly surrounding the wet areas and being very vigilant in their duties. Restrooms and changing rooms were pretty clean and plenty, never needing to queue and wait. Conveniently located so you could easily cross the road and grab something to eat, was even able to order a costco delivery here without any issues. I have to also mention that parking was easy to find and accessible, not to mention FREE which is quite impressive. This is now a new monthly get-together spot for our families and kids.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children across a wide age range β the graduated depth zones mean toddlers, school-aged swimmers, and adults all have suitable water. The high lifeguard-to-swimmer ratio is a genuine differentiator. Hot Queensland days above 30 degrees make this the obvious destination; cooler days see a quieter crowd.

βPerfect place for a summer family outing. The water is clean and warm, no smell of chlorine. There are many lifeguards around but of course itβs our responsibility to keep a close distance from our children to ensure their safety. Pool depth is thoughtfully designed to suit different age groups and heights. Thereβs a shopping centre opposite the lagoon where we will go for dinner. Would recommend coming on a day thatβs 30 degrees +.β
