I am visiting from New Zealand to see family, during my stay we visited PAC on the 24/01/2026 between 10.00am to 12.30pm. With my elderly son 30yrs whom has a dissability alongside with my two grandchildren ages 6yrs & 4yrs. My elderly son had a seizure within the vicinity, and the response was amazing, i just wanted to acknowledge the staff of PAC for their supports, the Duty Manager Orrja Gov, Lifeguard Blake Dempsey, also the lovely Nurse Ana whom was nearby off duty, whom jumped in to engage & support, everyone whom waited patiently for the paramedics, the staff & bystanders were great the response was friendly, polite professional and totally amazing..the young couple whom watched my grandchildren while i was tending to my son were amazing..thank you everyone for everything, i dont have gold or silver to repay you for your kindness & supports, but hopefully God will bless you all abundantly for all your supports.. thank you staff of Parkinson Aquatic Centre. Luvvie.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for local families needing a functional pool within driving distance for lap swimming and swim lessons. The facility suits school-age kids in structured lessons and casual lap swimmers. Families enrolling in swim school should confirm enrolment details with staff before attending the first lesson.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Confirm your child's swim school enrolment and assigned instructor before the first class
Commercial food deliveries are not permitted on site — check the food policy before ordering
🎟️Lanes are labelled slow to fast — choose the appropriate lane before getting in
🚗Bring your own seating for poolside watching as chair availability is sparse

It has a big outdoor pool, which is nice, and the lanes are labelled from slow to fast, which makes it well organised. It definitely needs more lawns and greenery, though. The area under the shade is sandy, and since your feet are wet, it sticks and gets messy. There aren’t any sunbeds to lie on and sunbathe—only small chairs, which aren’t even enough. There’s no music, no greenery, and it feels like no one is taking care of the vibe. I used to go to Yeronga Pool and have now moved house. If you’re close to Yeronga, I definitely recommend that one.

The two stars are for the female manager who was on shift on Sunday, the 2nd. She was an active listener. I always visit this place for swimming because it’s only a 10-minute drive away, and the staff are usually friendly and engaging. I usually don’t rate places, but an incident yesterday left me really pissed. I thought I should bring this to your attention again. A 40-year-old Caucasian man approached me in a disruptive manner, requesting we leave the lane for his convenience while I was sharing with a child. The reason given was it was the fast lane, but I explained that I was sharing with others. This led to an argument between us. I refused to move and engage further as I think this abusive behavior cannot be tolerated, so I said to him that I couldn’t understand him. He threatened to get someone to come to me if I refused to speak to him. A few minutes later, a staff member approached me for a conversation. I was extremely upset because he didn’t ask for the full story and instead asked us to move. It was a Sunday afternoon, and many families and children had come for fun. The pool was quite packed. I explained to him that the male was rude and disrespectful. He agreed that he thought the male was rude, but continued to ask us to move. There were two kids around, so they remained quiet. The mother had no choice but to ask them to leave the lane. I tried explaining to the young man by questioning his decision and thoughts, saying that the male couldn’t be an Olympic athlete. However, he accused me of being rude. Later, I saw him circled back to the man and have a brief chat before leaving. The man continued to stay in the lane. I came out of the pool, ran to the staff, and asked him to stop for a conversation. He didn’t respond, so I asked to speak to his manager. The lady was lovely and thought it would be fair for everyone to share the lane instead of the male kept it to himself for his preferences. She said she would speak to the man and offered me a free entry, which I declined. I expressed my gratitude, as I had used the pool before the incident. My point is that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially with children around. It would be beneficial to provide more training for staff on conflict resolution.

Unfortunately, Wednesday’s visit was extremely disappointing due to poor customer service from the site manager. We ordered Domino’s pizza for lunch, not realising that commercial food is not permitted on site—an honest mistake. However, the way this was handled was unacceptable. The manager spoke to my friend, who collected the pizza at the door, in a rude and condescending manner. There was no need for this tone, especially in a family-focused environment. Because of how the situation was handled, we chose to leave the facility with our children and take the food home. On our way out, the manager attempted to speak with us and apologised for how she came across. While I appreciate the apology and understand that policies must be enforced, this does not excuse the lack of respect shown initially. Policies can be communicated professionally and courteously. After many years of attending this venue for swim classes and squad programs, it is disappointing to see customer service decline to this level. Long-term patrons should not be made to feel uncomfortable or disrespected over a simple misunderstanding.
