1 / 3Rocksports Indoor Climbing
π Fortitude Valley, QLD
Brisbane original indoor climbing gym in Fortitude Valley with 100+ routes across low bouldering walls, roped top-rope walls, and auto belays. FUNdamentals classes and Learn to Lead programs available for newcomers.
A Brisbane classic, worth a visit. This place is inviting and covers all bases. This climbing gym is a smaller gym and I'm sure it can quickly reach capacity during peak times however, it has both (low height) bouldering, training walls, and roped climbing walls. There is also normal gym equipment available. On another note, there were lots of kids having a good time here, and I think that speaks volumes about the suitability of the route setting to people of smaller stature which is sometimes lacking in bouldering gyms.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids 8+ who want to try both bouldering and roped climbing in one venue. Staff patience with beginners is a genuine standout β nobody is made to feel inadequate for asking questions. The two-week trial is a low-commitment way to test whether kids take to it before committing to lessons.

βLove rock sports! My partner and I usually climb at 9Degrees but recently wanted to trial some top rope. Canβt recommend this gym enough! The staff are so lovely and patient, they are Reasonably priced, and there are so many climbs to do. The staff never make you feel bad for asking for assistance with anything and always help out with a smile and encouragement. The bouldering area upstairs is great too! :)β

βLove that they have more than just bouldering! Top rope is a lot of fun and the staff are all super friendly. Great routes to climb that are always changing to keep things challenging. I hate the normal gym so this is a great alternative, and at a good value as well!β

βTook the boys (8 and 10 yr old) over the school holidays and took up Rocksports fantastic 2 week trial offer of $49 all inclusive. Great value and the boys loved it! Considering coming back for lessons during term...β

Overview
Rocksports covers bouldering, top rope climbing, and training boards including a MoonBoard and Tension Board β more range than most Brisbane gyms. Auto belays let solo visitors climb roped walls without a partner. Staff are notably patient with beginners. Gear hire is included for members. Normal gym equipment also on site for cross-training.
