1 / 3St Kilda Sea Baths Complex
π St Kilda, VIC
St Kilda's iconic sea baths feature a heated 25-metre saltwater pool, hydrotherapy pools overlooking the bay, and a steam room. Best for families with older children who want a scenic, therapeutic swim experience.
Very interesting concept of a swimming pool. Filled with salt water (presumable from the ocean) it is nice to swim in their 25m pool, but if youβre coming to practice your open water skills this wonβt cut the mustard π The water is a bit warmer than your average swimming pools and you canβt really swim for that long because the salt water will start getting to you but if you do practice, there is an option to unwind in their hot pool with a view of the ocean and a steam room. $15 entry + $3 locker hire was a bit more than I expected but a pretty cool thing to try out if youβre in the area!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children or teens who appreciate an open-water feel without the unpredictability of ocean swimming. The hydrotherapy pools and bay views make this a genuinely scenic experience. Younger children may find the saltwater irritating after extended swims.

βMy favourite place to go too and relax. Steam room, hydro pool and a quick dip into Port Phillip Bay. Really gives you a great appetite to explore St Kilda. We just love this place!β

βBit overpriced for what you're getting but it's always lovely, you're paying for the ambiance and beach view more than the food itself. Staff are hit or miss, done if them are lovely and will go above and beyond to be polite and interested in helping you, while others seem to be more interested in getting the service done as soon as possible to get back to standing around. I understand rushing when it's real hour and you have lots of things you need to do, but it's a bit odd to rush and then not even pretend to be busy? Maybe that's the manager in me being overly critical, but it's disappointing when the other servers make such an amazing effortβ
