1 / 3State Sport Centres - MSAC
📍 Albert Park, VIC
Melbourne's premier aquatic and fitness centre in Albert Park with two 50m pools (indoor and outdoor), a dedicated kids' pool, learn-to-swim programs, gym, sauna, steam room, and cold plunge. Off-peak membership delivers strong value.
The competition 50m pool very incredibly fast. Cool water with salted chlorine water helps with buoyancy in competitive swimming, as well as the two meter deep pools. The pools and facilities were also nice, clean bathrooms and showers but it would be nicer if the showers could have temperature change. Additionally, MSAC uses the best of the best technologies: precise Swiss Timing touchpads, OSB-11 diving blocks and STARTTIME-V starters. This place has inspired me and changed my perspective on local state facilities within Victoria. Even my eleven-year-old son loves swimming in the kiddie pools, he’s trying to become a competitive swimming one day, and MSAC is definitely helping. Thanks for this greater place, Jason
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with swimmers at any level, from learn-to-swim beginners to competitive juniors. The multiple pool configurations suit different ages in parallel. Families with mobility-access needs should confirm hydrotherapy pool hours before visiting — it closes earlier than the main facility on weekends.

“As a sportsman, one of my favourite places in Melbourne. The facilities are amazing and the price is very very reasonable. I recommend getting the off-peak pass which still covers most of the day (if you can make it work). The gym is huge, with all sorts of equipments and multiple free weight areas. There are 2x 50m swimming pools (indoors and outdoors), a 25m pool, kids areas and a sauna and spa. The facilities are very clean, well staffed and would happily buy a yearly membership if I was living in Melbourne.”

“First time back @ MSAC since renovations. Awesome facilities & super cool Crew 😃 Mitch I believe to be the area manager has been swimming 🏊 there from ten 🔟 years young. He’s a very personable guy with terrific ability dealing with people. I’m signing up as the Pensioner rate is just ok”

“The facilities are amazing - currently being upgraded and the membership is extremely good value for money. I come here 2-3 times a week for swimming, sauna, cold plunges and yoga classes.”

MSAC in Albert Park runs two 50m competition pools — one indoor, one outdoor — plus a 25m pool and a dedicated children's pool. Facilities include a large gym with multiple free-weight areas, group fitness classes, sauna, steam room, and cold plunge. Learn-to-swim programs and competitive training squads operate year-round.
