The Funky Farm (Bookings Only)
π Hastings, VIC
Boutique booking-only farm on the Mornington Peninsula where small groups get hands-on time with animals including snakes, birds, and farm species. Guides Chris and Amos lead every session with no waiting or dead time.
One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Melbourne. It was the first time for my senior parents and my young kids to Australia (from Singapore) and this small group tour around the farm with our amazing guide, Amos gave them the best environment to get up close with the animals in a safe way where everyone was relaxed, no rushing and everyone got a good opportunity to have an interaction. There being no crowds, just your small group was the best. The farm is well sized and has a good array of animals unique to AU. For families with young kids who can only do one wildlife activity, this oneβs pretty good. Thank you, Amos and the rest of the Funky Farm Team!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want genuine animal interaction rather than a drive-through zoo experience. The small-group cap means every child gets hands-on time with every animal. Multi-generational groups travel well here β reviewers mention grandparents from overseas being as captivated as the kids. Book well ahead; sessions fill fast.

βWe visited The Funky Farm with my 2-year-old son and absolutely loved our experience. He was able to hold, touch, and feed so many different animals, and the staff made every interaction safe, gentle, and fun. I really appreciated how well the animals were treatedβnothing felt forced, and they were free to come and go as they pleased. The team were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. My son had the best time and hasnβt stopped talking about it. Weβll definitely be coming back and recommending The Funky Farm to friends and family. Thank you for such a memorable visit!β

βFunky Farm Melbourne is absolutely amazing! Itβs very interactive with no empty or waiting time at all, and every moment is full of fun. Chris is such a nice and caring person, and you can really feel how much he loves the animals. It truly feels like the animals are part of the family here. Amos was our guide and he was very friendly, patient, and careful, especially with children. Everything was well organised and welcoming. Highly recommend for families and animal lovers. We had a wonderful experience!β

β10/5 A wonderful, familyβfriendly contact park where the animals are clearly treated with love and care. The staff do an excellent job of educating visitors and sharing interesting information about the animals. What really stands out is the high level of interaction β you can get very close to the animals, which makes the experience especially memorable. Highly recommended for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking for a warm and engaging visit.β

Overview
The Funky Farm runs small guided groups of 10β15 people through hands-on animal encounters at Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula. Visitors feed, touch, and photograph animals across the property with guides who clearly love what they do. International visitors and multi-generational families consistently call it a highlight of their Australian trip. The no-downtime format keeps toddlers and grandparents equally engaged throughout.
