1 / 2Yarra Bend Public Golf Course Melbourne
đ Fairfield, VIC
Public golf facility in Fairfield with an 18-hole course, covered driving range bays and two 18-hole mini golf courses set along the Yarra River. Club hire, electric cart rental, coaching and on-site cafe available.
I went here on a Monday afternoon with my parents. The grounds were beautifully well kept. The holes were interesting topographically. We loved being down by the river. The environment felt quintessentially Australian. There was plenty of access to water and shade along the course. And the paths were easy to navigate and not too steep. Except for the 17th hole where we felt it was an advantage to have a motorised buggy. The crowd playing with very pleasant and polite as well. And the course was not too crowded. We ended up having a lovely chat with several other golfers we encountered along the way. There's a great driving range here too.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children or adults who have some golf experience and want an affordable round close to Melbourne's inner suburbs. The two mini golf courses give younger children a parallel activity. Avoid Sunday afternoons when course congestion can push round times past five hours.

âGreat public course probably the best value for money and for proximity from the city. The course is fun short but a good challenge for every handicap level . Conditions overall very good , small greens, tight fearway and plenty of trees make every shots especially teeshots strategically important. The only bad thing are the teeboxes overall in bad nick due the high volume of Sunday players during the weekend. The staff is absolutely lovely! The best in the business from the pga professional Adam to all the coaches and the guys in the club house. On top of all of this Yarra bend has one of the best driving range in town.â

âGreat course relative to cost (very cheap, well coming from England anyway) Greens in good nick, bunkers good, all staff friendly and helpful. Good experience all round. Only problem is it's a victim of its own success, far too busy on a Sunday arvo be NRL grand final. Took our 4ball 5.5hrs to get round, still, nice views.â

âTerrific course and staff in Melbourne. Absolutely enjoyed a round of golf at a pretty and challenging course and would love to come back and play again. Greatly appreciate the folks who run the course and work with the golfers. Thanks for an excellent visit and experience!â
