Bulla Hill Miniature Railway runs scenic miniature train rides on the third Sunday of each month. Dinosaur displays line the track, seven bookable picnic shelters with free BBQs are on site, and an adjacent playground rounds out the visit.
The drive to this place (from Mickleham) was such a treat to the eyes with the hilly views. There was ample of parking and sadly the flea market was closed due to strong winds (we were looking forward to it). The frequency of the trains were regular, so the wait was not too long. The $5 ride, I felt was worth it. Besides the beautiful views of the surrounding nature, there were other things like dinos, toys etc that excite the kiddos and created gasps, which then stopped my child from whining and crying đ . There was a playground to keep the kids occupied later and a table or two nearby for u to use for a picnic. Tried to book the shelter around 1wk in advanced but they were already fully booked, so suggest for u to book much earlier if u really need it. Overall, a great, budget friendly place to bring ur kids and have a nice picnic! :)

âAmazing place with enthusiastic, genuine and very friendly volunteers. We have loved this place for a while and ot never disappoints. Had a family birthday here recently and the hospitality is wonderful, extra chairs, own bin and water tap. We and the kids love the trains and all the things you can spot on the trip!â

âWe had a great experience at Bulla Hill Miniature Railway. The rides were well-run, affordable, and perfect for families. Our children especially enjoyed the train ride, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A fantastic, budget-friendly activity for all ages.â

Overview
Bulla Hill Miniature Railway is operated by the Tullamarine Live Steam Society volunteers on the third Sunday of each month. Rides run regularly through parkland with dinosaur and toy displays along the route. Seven picnic shelters can be pre-booked for birthday parties, and free BBQs are available. A kiosk, gift shop, children's playground and toilets are all on site. Free entry to the grounds; rides are ticketed separately.
