Came here two nights in a row to cool off in the end of Spring heat. Stunning views. Whole family loved it. From Inner West it was only 18min to get here, quicker than heading to any of the Eastern beaches. Parking was available both times (first night 8.15pm, second night 7pm). Free to enter and swim 24/7 in the saltwater pool with a freshwater shower to rinse off afterwards. Highly recommend and now one of our go-to swim spots.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with school-age swimmers who can share a narrow lane and handle open saltwater. Weekday evenings after offer noticeably fewer people and easier street parking. Toddlers and non-swimmers are better off watching from the edge β€” the pool is designed for swimming, not wading.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Walk in from surrounding streets β€” road parking is sparse on narrow approaches
⏰Bring a towel for the freshwater shower perched directly above the harbour
🎟️Weekday evenings see far fewer swimmers than weekend afternoons
πŸš—No fencing around the pool edge β€” keep close watch on young children

β€œSalty, Cool, Refreshing, with incredible views. Its a narrow pool so it does get to feel a bit crowded. People sit along the edges. There’s a freshwater shower that looks directly over the harbour - breathtaking. Parking is very tricky - skinny roads and simply not much parking. Thankfully there are stairs near the playground that lead to the pathway along the water that leads to the pool.”

β€œVisited MacCallum Seawater Pool and loved how calm and refreshing the space felt. The view over Sydney Harbour and the city skyline makes it one of the most scenic swimming spots on the North Shore. The pool is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxed morning swim. Great place in Cremorne Point for a quiet dip with unbeatable harbour views.”

β€œBeautiful, clean and just enough space to relax. Not too many people during the week.”

Overview

Maccallum Seawater Pool sits right on Sydney Harbour at Cremorne Point β€” natural seawater, no fees, no closing time. A freshwater shower perched directly over the harbour lets you rinse with one of the best views in the city. The pool is narrow, so lap swimmers share space with sitters along the edges. Parking on surrounding streets is tight; walking in from nearby areas is the smarter move.
