1 / 3Milson Park
📍 Kirribilli, NSW
Scenic waterfront park in Kirribilli overlooking Careening Cove, with expansive grass areas, tall palms, and small gardens. Famous for October jacaranda blooms along MacDougall Street, with pram access and free street parking.
Nice sized park in a peaceful and scenic location with beautiful views looking east over Careening Cove… Plenty of grass, with some nice little gardens and tall palm trees throughout… Other features include children’s playground, community garden, toilets, seating around perimeter and a small boat ramp for kayaks and/or small dinghy’s… Limited 1-2hr parking and mostly taken by local residents with parking permits… Short 5-6min walk from Milsons Point Railway Station, or about 10min walk from North Sydney Ferry Wharf… Dogs are welcome with multiple dog tidy bag dispensers around the park…
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families wanting a calm outdoor visit with harbour scenery rather than active playground equipment. The jacaranda bloom in late October is the standout reason to visit — worth the trip specifically in that window. The playground suits younger children as parents enjoy the water views.

“Stunning water view, easy free street parking next to the park. There is a cafe around the corner to sit and enjoy a cuppa. If you visit around October when Jacaranda blossoms, you will not be disappointed with the pretty purple on the street.”

Overview
Milson Park sits on the Careening Cove foreshore in Kirribilli with open grassed areas, tall palms, and garden plantings. The adjacent MacDougall Street is one of Sydney's most photographed jacaranda locations, turning fully purple in late October. A small children's playground, community garden, boat ramp, and toilet block are on the grounds. Dogs are welcome with tidy bag dispensers provided. Street parking is time-sparse and often taken by residents.
