Sorrento Park
π Sorrento, VIC
Elevated park in central Sorrento with views across the bay to Sorrento Pier and Front Beach. Features playground equipment, two BBQ areas, picnic shelters, and clean toilets. Walking distance from Sorrento shops and cafes.
A peaceful slice of paradise by the sea. Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Sorrento Park and it turned out to be one of the most refreshing and soul-soothing experiences Iβve had in Melbourne. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming, with the sound of birds chirping and a light sea breeze brushing through the tall, beautiful trees. The view overlooking the ocean is absolutely breathtaking β a perfect blend of sky, sea, and nature. We walked along the garden paths surrounded by seasonal blooms, vibrant colors, and thoughtfully maintained greenery. There are plenty of benches to sit and take in the serenity, and I could see families enjoying picnics, couples taking photos, and kids running freely on the open grass. The park is not only scenic but also very clean and well-kept. You can truly feel that this place is loved by the community. If you're into photography, this place offers some fantastic golden hour shots, especially from the elevated points looking towards the coastline. We even caught a glimpse of the ferry crossing the water β it added a magical touch to the whole setting. Whether you're looking for a peaceful solo walk, a romantic outing, or a family-friendly escape, Sorrento Park delivers all of it and more. I highly recommend stopping by if youβre anywhere near the Mornington Peninsula. Itβs a hidden gem that deserves more attention. Iβll definitely be coming back again.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families combining a Mornington Peninsula beach day with a relaxed stop in Sorrento town. The hilltop position and bay views make it a genuine destination rather than just a playground. BBQ facilities and shelters support longer visits. Bring your own water β none is available on-site.

βA great little park perched above on top of the hill of Sorrento. You can view the Sorrento Foreshore Reserve, Sorrento Pier, Sorrento Front Beach and of course the Bay. There are shelters with picnic tables, barbecue area and playground. There Sorrento Shops and cafes are close by as well.β
