1 / 3Spring Hill Baths
📍 Spring Hill, QLD
A working 1886 heritage bath featuring a 25-metre pool, poolside timber change cubicles, natural roof light, and water temperature that reviewers consistently call perfect — warm without being hot.
Even though we didn't go for a swim today, visiting the historic Spring Hill Baths—established in 1886—was a fantastic experience! Incredible Historical Atmosphere: The moment you walk in, you're transported back to the 19th century. The classic wooden changing cubicles, vintage "Ladies Only" signage, and the unique roof structure that lets in natural light create a truly nostalgic vibe. Charming & Spotless: While the pool is on the smaller side, it is clearly maintained with great pride. The water is crystal clear, and the entire facility is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Great for Visitors: I love that they offer a "Spectator fee" for those who just want to admire the stunning architecture without getting in the water. This place is packed with charm and character. A must-see cultural landmark for anyone exploring Brisbane!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a heritage swimming experience rather than a lap-training facility — the scale and atmosphere reward curiosity as much as swimming ability. All ages from young children to grandparents feel at home here. The poolside change rooms and perfect water temperature make it practical as well as beautiful.

“Such a historic bath with a 25-metre pool, suitable for beginners through to advanced swimmers. The young lady on staff is friendly, and the water temperature is perfect — not too cold. The change rooms line the pool, which is very convenient. It’s lovely how the sun shines through the roof. The old pool is well maintained, as are the hot showers, and they even provide free equipment. Swimmers range from young people to those in their 80s, with many over 50 — everyone is well behaved and respectful. The area outside is a bit quiet and feels slightly rough, but inside the baths the atmosphere is calm and pleasant.”
