Yi Yuan Chinese Garden
π Bendigo, VIC
A compact, free-entry traditional Chinese garden in Bendigo celebrating the region's Chinese heritage. Features a koi fish pond, water fountain, tile mosaics, and ornamental shelter with intricate painted woodwork.
I love Chinese gardens, itβs a very calm and peaceful garden layout and experience. You also meet nice people there who are usually like minded. I really enjoyed the fish pond as I used to have one myself. The decorations are beautiful around the garden along with the tile mosaics. This is part of the Chinese Gardens Precinct and well worth a few minutes.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with curious kids who enjoy a calm, cultural detour during a Bendigo day trip. The fish pond and mosaic details engage younger children briefly. Pairs well with the Bendigo Tramways or Central Deborah Goldmine for a fuller outing. Expect a 20-30 minute visit given the compact size.

βThis Chinese garden is pretty, though quite small. Once you step inside, your ears are greeted by the soothing sound of the water fountain, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere. I stayed here for a bit during my visit to Bendigo, and I donβt regret adding this place to my list. Some corners are also perfect for photos β definitely Instagram-worthy!β

βThe gardens are interesting and has some unique statues, it's seen better days though and the pond is rather murky, the fish don't look very healthyβ
